The Gideons International In Canada is an association of Christian men and women who share God’s Word with effective and engaging forms of Scripture—reaching people everywhere with the Gospel through personal witness and partnership with the local church.

In Canada we place Bibles or New Testaments free of charge in common areas where people will find them and begin to read them: hotels, prisons, hospitals, extended care facilities, seniors’ homes, assisted living facilities, medical waiting rooms, clinics and other similar institutions. We also hand them out to students, health care workers, military personnel, police officers, prisoners, and the general public at special events.

We partner with local churches in Canada and around the world, sharing God’s Word and communicating the gospel message to people of all ages and walks of life.

Internationally we also partner with like-minded ministries so that together, strength to strength, more people can be reached for Christ.

The Gideons International In Canada was founded in 1911 as part of an international association originally formed in the United States in 1899. The association is named after an ordinary man who, as related in the Old Testament book of Judges, chapter 7, was able to accomplish an amazing task because of his faithful response to God.
